Jack and the Beanstalk
- Written by Erminio Pinque and Garland Farwell, this was their first collaboration with The Puppet Workshop, a non-profit puppet theater, which I directed from 1970-1992 They also made these puppets which were some of the first puppets that were made with Erminio's invented paint/latex finish for foam puppets. He has perfected the technique in his company, BIG NAZO. Stephen Snyder wrote the lyrics and music of the show. He is now a Producer for The World at WGBH. This video version of the play was produced by Steven Stoia and The New England Puppetry Series Puppet Lane. I edited out the introduction and epilogue of that show for this video. Erminio, Martha Pearlman, and I traveled to Springfield, MA, and had to go back a second time to finish the taping. Erminio stayed up late the night before the taping and made the "Stonewall" and "Clouds" drops. Stephen Snyder taped the three of us speaking the lines, and made the soundtrack with the music for the songs, sound effects, and background music for scenes.i
